Read Mark 11:23-24.
Faith is not wishful thinking—it is confident trust in the power and faithfulness of God. Jesus paints a vivid picture here: mountains being thrown into the sea. Mountains represent obstacles—things in our lives that feel too heavy, too unmovable, too impossible. Yet Jesus assures us that no obstacle is greater than the God we pray to.
The key is not the size of our faith, but the object of our faith. We are not asked to muster up superhuman belief; we are called to rest in God’s power and promises. Jesus tells us to pray with confidence—believing that what we ask, aligned with His will, is already being accomplished.
Prayer, then, becomes less about convincing God to act and more about aligning our hearts to trust that He will act. When we pray in faith, we release our grip on fear and take hold of God’s ability.
Reflection Questions:
- What “mountain” in your life feels immovable right now?
- Are you praying with confidence that God can move it, or with doubt that He might not?
- How can you shift your prayers from worry to faith-filled expectation?
Personal Worship Option:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that nothing is too big for You. Forgive me when I pray with doubt instead of faith. Help me to trust that You hear me, that You are able, and that You are working even now. Strengthen my heart to believe that mountains move when I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
