Read Exodus 33:12-23.
Moses was a great man of God, and a great man of faith but he was concerned about the future of his people. He prays if your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. He knew if God was with them, they would be okay. God assures Moses that His presence will go with them.
Moses got a glimpse of God no one else has at the burning bush. It was an amazing moment for Moses. When Moses came down from Mount Sanai his face glowed with the glory of God. His face glowed so brightly he had to put a veil over his face. The God that showed Moses His glory and made his face glow, is the same God that lives in us. The same glory Moses experienced is in the heart of every Christian. We are never alone. Hebrews 13:5 states I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you. It is very comforting to know God is always with us.
Personal Worship Option:
Jehovah Shammah, the God who is present, thank you for your presence in my life. I am not always aware of your presence, but I know you are with me. Make me more aware of your abiding presence, fill me with your Holy Spirit and watch over my life. Amen.
