Read Matthew 11:28-30.
Jesus bids us come! Those who are weary and burdened come. In our busy, busy, culture and lives most of us can relate to being weary and burdened. We have so much to do and so little time to do it. Sometimes we let the busyness of life discourage us, but Jesus tells us to get yoked up with him and let him carry our stress, weariness and burdens. Jesus invites us to take up his yoke and learn from Him. The call to get yoked up with Jesus is a call to discipleship. A disciple is a follower of Jesus and a student of Jesus. As we get yoked up with Jesus and learn from Him the issues of life become less cumbersome. As we follow Jesus, we trust Him to give us strength to help us live for Him day after day and be a witness to others of God’s love and grace.
Mighty comforter, comfort me now. As I give myself to you and learn from you, I know that you will give me the strength and wisdom I need each day. Lead guide and direct my path as I follow you. Amen.
