Read Hebrews 12:2.
How many games can you think of that use a ball? Games such as baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, and the list is long. No matter which game you play there is one important thing to remember: keep your eye on the ball! If you fail to do this you may spend time chasing the ball or worse, end up with a black eye.
So, what does it mean to fix our eyes on Jesus? He is the one to go to for rescue, salvation, and joy in living. It is tempting to look to ourselves or circumstances to make decisions or decide direction. It is at those points where we stumble and fall. However, He forgives when we fail and offers grace and mercy. We can get back up again and again, re-training our eyes to stay on Jesus. Jesus is the one at work in our life to help us grow in faith.
Prayer for today: LORD, thank you for keeping your eyes fixed on your children, help us to keep our eyes fixed on you and follow you faithfully each and every day. Amen.
