Read Philippians 4:8.
This verse is printed on a little card that lives on my bathroom mirror. Each day I read it to help me set my mind where it needs to be. However, it is sometimes difficult to dwell on the good when the problems and worries of the day continue to bombard your thoughts.
Yes, we need to think good thoughts and seek God's help to keep our minds on good things, but it takes practice. But it is necessary. What we put into our mind determines what comes out in our words and actions. Examine what you are putting into your mind through media, books, conversations, movies, and music. Replace harmful input with God-honoring material. Above all else, read God’s Word and pray.
Ask God to help you focus your mind on what is good and pure. Ask His guidance in evaluating your thought life and His wisdom to make changes.
