Read Isaiah 6:1-8.

In this text we see the dramatic calling of Isaiah to be a prophet. He has a vision of the throne of God, and angels called Seraphim flying around the throne crying out “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of armies the whole earth is full of His glory.” The vision was overwhelming. Coming into the presence of God and getting a glimpse of God’s glory and majesty humbled him greatly. I can only imagine how terrifying this must have been. He hears the voice of God saying, “who will go for Us?” God was looking for someone who was willing to serve and be a prophetic voice during a difficult time in Israel’s history. Isaiah responds, “Here am I, Send me!” As followers of Jesus, we need to be available for God to use us and call us into service.

Personal Worship Option:

Gracious God, I make myself available for your service. Help me hear your voice and have the courage to follow you wherever you lead me. Amen.
