Read Colossians 3:15-17.
Our focus is the last sentence in verse 15: “And be thankful.” If, as the saying goes, we have an “attitude of gratitude” it will show by how we live our life each day.
One worship song that speaks to me about thankfulness is “Goodness of God” from Bethel Music. The lyrics of this song speak to a deep theme of thankfulness and gratitude. It expresses a love for the Lord, acknowledging that our days have been held in God’s hands and we are always surrounded by His mercy and goodness. So, thank Him for all He has done, giving every breath we have in praise of His goodness.
I love You, Lord
For Your mercy never failed me
All my days, I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night You are close like no other
I've known You as a Father
I've known You as a Friend
And I have lived in the goodness of God, yeah!
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now
I give You everything
'Cause all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God
Oh, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God
