Read 1 Corinthians 16:13-14.

As the Apostle Paul nears the end of his first letter to the Christians in Corinth, he offers these short phrases of advice for being the people of Christ. Each one of them can be the source of additional writing and discussion. Verse 14 is the one on which we are focused this week, as we finish up our look at the thirteenth chapter, where he goes into detail on the foundational subject of love.

“Do everything in love.” That in itself is a great motto to live by for a Christian. I can see it on a T-shirt, cap, bumper sticker, business card or any number of places to proclaim that message. Can you imagine how different the world would be if just the Christians lived by that motto? Maybe more people would want to be part of the Church if we really did do EVERYTHING with the love that our Lord showed us in both word and action.

Give some thought to everything you have done over the past 24-48 hours. Was there anything you did not do in love? How would it have changed what you did if you had done it in love?

Personal Worship Option:

Think about the plans you have for today. How might you be intentional to do everything in love?
