Read Galatians 6:9.
Let’s be real—doing good is hard. Not once in a while. Not only in tough seasons. But consistently. Daily. Sometimes hourly. Especially when no one notices. Especially when others cut corners and still seem to get ahead.
Paul doesn’t sugarcoat it in this verse. He knows that goodness can wear you down. That there are moments when compassion costs more than you thought. That forgiving again, speaking up again, showing up again—it’s exhausting. Sometimes it feels like you’re the only one still trying to hold the line.
But here’s what this verse quietly shouts: your persistence matters. It is seen. Not just by people (though maybe not yet), but by God. And there’s a promise stitched into this verse that’s easy to miss when you’re tired: “At the proper time we will reap a harvest.”
God sees the good that’s hard to do. He honors the faithfulness no one claps for. He keeps track of the seeds you plant in dry ground and the kindness you offer in hard places. And He promises—it’s not wasted.
So yes, it is hard to always do good. But it’s not empty. It’s not pointless. And it’s not forever without fruit.
There’s a harvest coming. Maybe not today. Maybe not in the way you expect. But it’s coming.
Keep going.
