Read Hebrews 13:16.

This scripture verse is quite plain. We are to do good and share what we have. God has given each of us things that we can share with others at various times in our lives. We can’t always give financially, but we might be able to mow a lawn for someone. We might not be able to provide money for a project, but we can take a person to a doctor’s office. We can’t always meet a need, but we can pray and offer support in a variety of ways.
Natural disasters in faraway communities challenge us and trigger all kinds of responses. Today’s reading explains what our immediate response to a tragedy should be. It’s then that we as Christians are called to do good and share with those in need. We serve and worship a God who always reaches out in love and compassion. That’s why we must go beyond condolences and kind wishes. If we are truly trying to live out God’s desire for us, it is only natural for us to reach out to hurting people with a helping hand and caring heart. Take action!
Personal Worship Option:
God, help us praise you not only in word but also in deed. Make us reflectors of your love in this world. In Jesus, Amen
