The power of cross effects each of us in very powerful and personal ways. God’s love for us is the most powerful motivator in the world. It is not fear, not guilt, not money, but God’s undeserving love. We will do almost anything for love. If we know we are loved unconditionally, we will try to please the one who loves us that way. Knowing that we are loved is the final step in changing and trying to improve our life.
As we transform to believing in Christ, we are freed from condemnation by the power of Jesus dying on the cross. However, we do not become model citizens, but God forgives us when we ask for it. That is an unbelievable love that is hard for us humans to understand. But the transformation isn’t complete until we sinners realize that we are genuinely loved by God, until we believe that the God who pardoned them wants to be their Father. How can sinners ever believe they are loved so much by a Holy God? They can believe by the power of Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross. God’s love can change sinners into sons and daughters.
Personal Worship Option:
Thank you, Jesus, for sacrificing your life for us. Help us to live a life that is worthy of the price you paid to save us. Help us depend on your strength each day to live for you. Amen.
