Read Matthew 21:15-16.

Jesus offers a reminder that God sometimes sends messages to us from the mouths of children. The religious leaders were expecting that God would speak in prescribed ways. We often have the same expectation. That God would speak to us in a clear and booming voice, or come to us in obvious ways, and feel disappointed when He doesn't follow our “rules”. We might be tempted to give up on faith when times get tough or when we don’t “feel like” God is present. God is always with us and frequently comes to us in unexpected ways. God provides for us and comes to us in strange and unexpected ways sometimes. He might reveal Himself through quiet whispers or through His Word, or through a song, or through other people - even children!

Personal Worship Option:

Reflect on the different ways that God has spoken to you. Thank Him for his faithfulness and attentiveness. Listen for Him and praise Him for his care.
