Read Luke 24:30-49.

As I shared yesterday, Easter is such a core piece of the whole Bible story. Jesus was the fulfillment of all that had happened in the Old Testament, the ultimate realization of God’s desire to bless all the people of the world and redeem all of Creation. I love the place where this passage begins: “When he was at the table with them….” It was there that their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. Jesus still invites you and me and everybody else to his table. Jesus still invites everyone into a personal relationship where we continually learn to live his way and are guided to invite all to follow him.

What an amazing time that must have been for the disciples of Jesus in the experiences they had with him after his resurrection. Each of those experiences increased their faith and courage to continue his mission. That same mission is still ours today. This next week, we will look at some of the ways they continued to live that mission and how we can do so today.

Personal Worship Option:

Join us in worship today as we reflect on lessons offered from the Gospel of Luke about being the people of Christ. Tell others about the options they have in worship at Christ Church, both in person and online. And offer to bring them with you to help make your carload!
