Read Acts 10.

The Holy Spirit continues to teach Peter about God’s desire to connect with all people. In the early first century, a massive divide separated Jews and Gentiles. Jews considered Gentiles unclean. They refused to eat with them, and Jewish physicians wouldn’t even care for non-Jewish patients. But this was not God’s view. Through Peter’s dream and his encounter with Cornelius, Peter came to understand the truth: “we should not call anyone impure or unclean” Labeling, pigeonholing, putting people in categories, refusing to associate with those who are different, thinking we are better than others - such things may be common and convenient, but they are not Christlike.

Today, when you encounter those who are different, engage rather than ignore. Love instead of label. Treat others the way Jesus treated you.

Personal Worship Option:

Reflect on God’s goodness. How can you share God’s love with someone who is different than you?
