Read John 2:1-10.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus changed the water into wine at the wedding at Cana in Galilee. Applying this to real life, the story teaches us a few things. First is to believe that nothing is impossible with God such as when Jesus turned the water into wine. Second is that we should follow all the commands of Jesus just as His disciples did. Third, ask through prayers, have faith, follow His commands and you will receive abundant blessings, more than that you have asked for. Things may look impossible, but with God everything is possible. Jesus will always make a way to provide for us, His sons and daughters.

It is often discussed why the turning of water into wine would have been the first public miracle. The miracle saved the wedding host a huge embarrassment and Jesus’ mother had asked him to help. She had confidence as she told the servants to do what he asked them to do. We may not always get what we want, but when we turn to the Lord, our needs are met so that we can pursue a deeper relationship with Him.

Personal Worship Option:

Even after the destructive storms of life, God can give us all we need to live a new life. Dear God, help us to pay less attention to the wine story, but instead focus on the winemaker. Amen.
