Devotion:
Read Romans 8:31-39.
Have you ever felt not quite “good enough” or have just missed the mark and so are not deserving of love? There is no greater news than this: through Jesus Christ, we cannot be separated from God’s love. These words elicit comfort, peace, and assurance. You don’t have to “be enough”. God is enough and He sustains you through whatever may come.
Believers have always had to face hardships in many forms which sometimes cause them to fear that Christ has abandoned them. This passage reaffirms God’s profound love for his people. No matter what happens to us, no matter where we are, we can never be separated from his love. Suffering should not drive us away from God but help us to identify with him and allow his love to heal us. Nothing can separate us from Christ’s presence. God tells us how great his love is so that we will feel totally secure in him.
Personal Worship Option:
Recall those times in your life when you felt unloved. Replace those lies with this truth: NOTHING can separate you from God’s love. Let that sink in. Bask in that assurance.
