Devotion:
Read Psalm 119:105.
This verse from the Psalmist contains both elements of our focus this week: using both our head and our feet to advance the way of Jesus Christ. As is often the case, the writer says the same thing in two different ways: lamp and light, feet and path (guiding my way). As we read, study and meditate on the Bible, we receive guidance for how to live life at its best, following the way of Christ.
When I see the word “word,” I am also reminded that Jesus himself is the “Word made flesh” so it is his teaching and example that guides our understanding of the Bible. He is the One who ultimately provides the “lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Personal Worship Option:
Offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the written Word of God that guides us to the living Word of God.
