Devotion:
Read Daniel 6:19-28.
This is the conclusion of the story of Daniel in the lions’ den, letting us know that his faithfulness to God made a believer out of King Darius. Earlier in the book (chapter 3), three young colleagues of Daniel had the same effect on another king. King Nebuchadnezzar had come to believe that Israel’s God was real because of the faithfulness of Daniel and his friends. Now King Darius was also convinced of God’s power because Daniel was faithful and God rescued him. Although Daniel was a captive his devotion to God was a testimony to a powerful king. Daniel was not only faithful to God, but was also a faithful and diligent employee to the King. If you find yourself in circumstances that provide an opportunity to share about God’s power in your life, embrace it. Be faithful to God so he can use you to make an impact on others.
