Read Romans 5:1-2.

What does it mean to stand in the grace of God? Paul wrote that all who believe have grace. They are no longer under the power of sin and death. Standing in grace is a wonderful image for us to have. Everyone wants grace for the times that we mess up. Paul says that to be in God’s grace is to be justified before God. It is to be in the family of God, a member of the Kingdom. All that God saves, He rejoices in and gives perseverance. This is the blessing of justification, peace, and security with God through Christ.

Through the Holy Spirit we Christians are sanctified. All of this is a result of Christians being justified by faith. Believers ought to strive to have a full assurance that they have been redeemed in Christ and are now living with the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Christians can boldly approach God because they are His children and heirs. We do not have to live in fear of punishment, for we are wholly in Christ Jesus. We are able to have the joy of salvation. We have to keep asking ourselves, do I believe and thank God for all of his love and grace?

Personal Worship Option:

Dear God, thank you for giving us love, grace, and assurance that we are in your family. Help us give grace, love, and understanding to others. Teach us how to grow your Kingdom. Amen.
