Devotion:
Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-17.
It is the highest of the holy days of the Christian calendar. It is the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is the day when we sing songs of praise and “Hallelujah.” It is the day when we are reminded that there is always hope, no matter what. It is Easter.
However, it is more than just remembering what happened just outside Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. What happened that first Easter was not just for that day and time, but for all time. It was not just for the people then, but for people of all times and places.
It is also the day when we are reminded of our mission to be “Easter people.” The love and power that Jesus showed us at Easter is what changed and still changes the world. He showed us that representing God means loving people, sacrificing for others and being focused outward rather than inward. On Easter, we give thanks and celebrate the new creation he brought to the whole world. And we invite him to continue a new creation in us.
Personal Worship Option:
If at all possible, join us in person for worship today! Let’s sing together! Let’s worship together! Let’s celebrate together! Happy Easter! Hallelujah!
