Read Acts 16:16-34.

Paul and Silas were beaten, bound, and imprisoned—yet they sang. Their bodies were in chains, but their spirits were free. In contrast, the jailer, who seemed to be the one in control, was the one truly imprisoned—trapped by fear, duty, and despair.
When the earthquake came and the doors flew open, it wasn’t just about physical release. It was a revelation: freedom isn’t about where you are—it’s about who holds your heart. True freedom isn’t the absence of struggle or confinement; it’s the presence of Christ within us. Paul and Silas had that freedom, and when they chose grace over escape, they offered it to the jailer, too.
The jailer’s question was simple: “What must I do to be saved?” The answer was just as clear: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” And in that moment, salvation—true, liberating, joy-filled salvation—came not just to him, but to his whole household.
I hope that you can join us in worship today, either in person or online as we celebrate freedom in Jesus Christ.

Personal Worship Option:
Pray this prayer or one of your own choosing: God of freedom, remind me that no prison—whether made of iron or fear—can hold me when I am in You. Teach me to find my freedom not in circumstances, but in Your presence. Make my life a song of liberation for others to hear. Amen.
