Read Esther 4:12 - 5:2.
Physically, it was a short journey for Esther to go to the king. But because of what could happen to her, it had to be a most difficult walk. She asked that others fast on her behalf, because she knew she would need God to be with her.
Esther gives us a model to follow when dealing with difficult tasks.
- Calculate the cost. Esther realized her life was at stake.
- Set priorities. She believed the safety of the Jewish race was more important than her life.
- Prepare. She fasted and prayed and had others join her.
- Determine a course of action and move ahead boldly. She didn’t think too long about it and followed through on her commitment.
Let Esther be an example to you that when you have God and courage, you need nothing more.
