Devotion:
Read Luke 2:1-7.
Tiny Bethlehem, jammed with pilgrims forced by the Romans to travel to be counted, was not at all still and quiet, and the couple huddled around the manger may have felt just a bit of desperation. Yet, hope was alive and well. Hope found them a place for the night. It wasn’t what they had planned, but it did meet the immediate need. Hope reminded them that they were following God’s plan. Hope brought shepherds knocking on the door to see a baby that had been heralded by angels. Wow - and this was just the beginning! Here’s the thing about Hope. It’s not a granted wish or a favor performed. It is far greater than that, it is a zany, unpredictable dependence on a God who loves to surprise us out of our socks.
Personal Worship Option:
What are your greatest dreams? Remember, God can do anything and he loves to fulfill dreams. Ask God to show you what he wants you to do, and then ask him for the power and courage to do it.
